Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of monthly reports of actuals and variances against budget and previous forecast in an accurate and timely manner
* Review and challenge the appropriateness of forecasts/spend to date and develop corrective action plans, ensuring follow-up
* Review and challenge annual budgets submitted by function or line of business for realistic achievability and strategic alignment, applicable to P&L and Balance Sheet
* Assist in all financial reporting for the Line of Business (LoB)
* Provide support to Accounting Manager in the facilitation, consolidation and preparation of the Integrated Business Plan information
* Develop and maintain professional finance relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Provide relevant financial advice to all functions and follow up on financial queries
* Assist in ensuring compliance with Accounting standards and internal policies, advising on how the business should account for items
* Provide support with both internal and external audit requirements
* Assist in ad-hoc decision support requirements
About You
* Degree qualification as well as professional CA, CIMA or CPA qualification
* Excellent knowledge of budgeting and cost analysis, with a strong understanding of financial and management accounting practices
* Ability to influence individuals and teams across multiple business areas to shape and implement requirements
* Ability to balance conflicting priorities and manage stakeholders effectively
* Ability to negotiate with and influence internal and/or external stakeholders to generate business benefit
* Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to diverse audiences
* Up-to-date knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Australian IFRS
* Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Eligibility for a Negative Vetting Level 1 Defence security clearance
