About The Role
Lead and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers to deliver optimal cost, risk and performance outcomes across the asset lifecycle, ensuring Sydney Water meets its service, regulatory and operational obligations. The role is accountable for the development of 1–5 year maintenance and reliability plans for existing and newly commissioned assets, working in close partnership with strategic planning, investment, delivery, operations, and performance teams to ensure maintenance strategies are practical, risk‑based and aligned with organisational goals.
* People & Cultural Leadership: Lead, hire and develop Maintenance Engineers, providing mentoring, technical guidance and clear accountabilities.
* Safety & Wellbeing Leadership: Demonstrate visible safety leadership by coaching safe behaviours, ensuring accountability for Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
* Technical & Engineering Leadership: Provide expert engineering judgement across the asset lifecycle to balance cost, risk and performance.
* Maintenance Engineering & Asset Performance: Lead condition assessment, maintenance strategies, reliability planning and root cause analysis.
About You:
In addition to a degree (or equivalent) qualification in an Engineering, Science or a related discipline. You will also have:
* Extensive asset management and maintenance experience, with 10+ years in operations, production or maintenance roles and a strong understanding of asset lifecycle management principles.
* Proven change leadership, with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage complexity and drive organisational change.
* Strong leadership and communication capability, able to synthesise complex information into clear objectives, priorities and outcomes.
