About the role:
Electric Time Systems Technician
The purpose of the Electronic Time Systems Technician role is to continue Ingrams' proud history of servicing, restoring, maintaining and building time systems throughout Australia. The position takes end-to-end responsibility for quotation, design, maintenance, build and installation of time systems with both electronic and electro-mechanical components.
Responsibilities include:
* Respond to customer requests for quotation, proposal & tenders in a timely manner
* Follow up with customers regarding outstanding quotations
* Draft technical drawings, circuit designs and specifications for manufacture or quotation
* Liaise with suppliers for purchasing
* Manufacture electronic time systems and components such as master clocks, stepper-motor control units and associated components
* Attend client site for installation and maintenance activities
* Consistently review available technology advancements and apply to Ingrams product offerings
Operating hours:
Standard hours are to fall between 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday with additional flexibility required where client site work must be conducted outside these hours, or to meet short-term increased demand.
Location:
The primary location is the Ingrams office in Ringwood however frequent travel to client site for quotation, servicing or installation is a requirement of the position.
About you:
This is a role for someone who is experienced and has proven ability, and desire to work independently. We are a small team of 5 people and while you will have frequent opportunity to collaborate with the team we need someone who enjoys taking ownership of getting their work done.
Your experience:
* You have spent time in client facing roles, whether that be dealing with clients in person on-site, or extensively via phone & email. Through this experience you have developed strong communication skills
* Familiar with electromechanical device design, installation and maintenance - our primary solutions involve solenoids and stepper motors, however we have all kinds of bespoke installations
* Comfortable with circuit design
* Comfortable with retrospectively figuring out how a solution works - often we are faced with an installation that is 50-60 years old with no documentation
* Experienced with CAD and ideally 3D printing
* Comfortable with basic programming and configuration of network connected devices such as NTP and POE
* Working at heights - this role will involve climbing clock towers internally (narrow stairs and tall ladders), and working externally in cherry pickers. While we follow every safety precaution if you have a fear of heights this role is not for you
* Hands on experience - we often manufacture bespoke solutions and have a full metal working machine shop
