We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Enterprise Architect to shape and guide the future of digital architecture of our client, a highly innovative federal government agency. This is a newly created contract role focused on uplifting enterprise architecture capabilities and supporting a critical, organisation-wide technology transformation program focusing on upcoming legislation. As the dedicated Enterprise Architect within the Technology, Data and Digital Enablement Branch, you’ll provide high-level architectural leadership and consultancy across both BAU and project initiatives. You will be responsible for defining and uplifting architecture artifacts—such as high-level designs, principles, patterns, and roadmaps—while aligning them with strategic goals and regulatory responsibilities. You’ll work in close collaboration with technical and business teams, contributing to key decision-making and driving the evolution of our digital ecosystem. Key Responsibilities will include Develop and maintain enterprise-wide reference architectures, patterns, and design principles Shape and define current and future state architectures, aligning with business objectives Provide strategic architectural guidance on technology initiatives and transformation projects Ensure alignment with government standards (e.g. ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight) Present proposals and roadmaps to governance forums and executive leadership Identify architectural opportunities, synergies, and efficiencies across the organisation Lead architectural communities of practice and promote knowledge sharing What You’ll Bring to the table Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g. TOGAF) Expertise in Microsoft Azure architecture and services Strong experience engaging across business and technical domains Proven ability to produce high-quality, easily interpretable architecture artifacts Ability to align technology strategies with business goals and security requirements Federal Government experience Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain Baseline Clearance. Desirable Familiarity with regulatory environments and related technologies (e.g. investigations and case management systems) Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Background in organisational change management This will be an initial 12 months contract role, likely to extend and can be based in Sydney or Canberra, working in an hybrid environment.
