About The Opportunity
The Inpatient Mental Health Social Work Department in SWSLHD is interested in recruiting for a Social Worker who is passionate about working in the inpatient mental health setting. We are looking for a social worker who is client‑centred with addressing their psychosocial needs while they receive treatment in hospital and linking them to various supports in community post‑discharge from hospital. The Social Worker will be responsible for providing high quality psychosocial intervention to people with mental health challenges which may extend to assisting their families/cars to appropriate support services. The social worker will need to possess knowledge and skills to work alongside other social work colleagues and the rest of the multidisciplinary team.
The social work position is part of a larger social work team working in the inpatient mental health units across Liverpool, Campbelltown and Bankstown Hospital. Hence, there is an opportunity to experience various mental health units from acute to non‑acute mental health settings. There is also a wide range of professional and learning opportunities within this role along with the support of the dynamic and well‑established Inpatient Mental Health Social Work Department in SWSLHD who aspires to provide the highest standard of social work service to the consumers and their families across the various inpatient mental health units.
What You'll Be Doing
To provide Social Work services to consumers and their carers to ensure the provision of optimal health outcomes consistent with SWSLHD policies and procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. The position will also participate in professional development, clinical supervision, teaching, quality activities and other relevant departmental and administrative duties.

SWSLHD Inpatient Mental Health Services provide comprehensive care across several facilities, including the newly redeveloped Campbelltown Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. These services offer a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals with acute and non‑acute mental health needs.
The multidisciplinary teams, consisting of professionals with diverse mental health expertise, deliver exceptional care through specialised units such as the Mental Health Intensive Care Unit, Adult Acute Unit, and Older People's Mental Health Unit. The service is committed to patient safety and high‑quality care, maintaining external accreditation with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

* A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Demonstrated experience in a health related field and ability to provide a range of Social Work Interventions.
* Demonstrated experience prioritising work and managing stressful situations.
* Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Applicants must possess an Australian C‑Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
