Job details
Application Architects design, implement and evolve the application environment in the organisation. They pay close attention to how applications interact with each other to form a service and aim to improve the way application support the business.
Key duties and responsibilities
We are seeking specialist assistance to design and implement an
enterprise-grade Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) approach
for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.The objective is to enable
multiple concurrent delivery streams
to operate safely within shared environments, while maintaining
business-as-usual (BAU) support
for existing production solutions.
Key Outcomes
The engagement must deliver an ALM model that:
* Supports
parallel delivery of multiple projects
across shared D365/Power Platform environments
* Enables
ongoing BAU enhancements and defect fixes
without disrupting in-flight project work
* Provides a
repeatable, governed, and automated deployment process
from development through to production
* Reduces deployment risk, solution conflicts, and regression defectsIs scalable to support future projects and teams
Scope of Capability
The provider must demonstrate experience and provide guidance in the following areas:
Environment Strategy
* Definition of environment roles (Development, Test, UAT, Production, etc.)
* Support for concurrent projects operating within the same environment tiers
* Clear promotion paths between environments
Solution Architecture
* Use of managed solutions and solution layering strategies
* Separation of core/common components from project-specific and BAU solutions
* Clear ownership and dependency management between solutions
ALM & CI/CD
* Design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or equivalent)
* Source control and branching strategies to support parallel development and BAU fixes
* Automated solution packaging and deployment
* Handling of environment-specific configuration and dependencies
BAU and Release Management
* Patterns for safely deploying BAU fixes alongside active project work
* Support for hotfix and emergency release scenarios
* Versioning and rollback strategies
Governance & Standards
* Recommended standards for solution structure, naming, and versioning
* Deployment controls and release approval mechanisms
* Practical governance that supports delivery velocity while maintaining platform integrity
Deliverables
* Expected deliverables may include:
* An agreed ALM operating model and reference architecture
* Environment and solution design documentationCI/CD pipeline templates and configuration
* Deployment and release management guidanceKnowledge transfer to internal teams
Technical skills
Demonstrated experience in the ALM space utilising the Power Platform is essential. Demonstrated enterprise level experience, strategic design, secure pipeline design, identity and access integration and national identity systems a must. Ability to offer expert advice and provide guidance on Dynamics 365 Solution deployment between multiple environments with multiple releases including BAU/Projects.

Essential criteria
1.Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing an enterprise‑grade Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategy for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform that supports multiple concurrent delivery streams while maintaining production stability
2.Proven capability in defining Dynamics 365 / Power Platform solution architectures that reduce deployment risk and support safe, independent change across projects and BAU work.
3.Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing automated ALM and CI/CD pipelines for Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform, supporting controlled and repeatable deployments across environments.
4.Ability to establish practical ALM governance and standards that protect platform integrity while enabling delivery velocity, supported by effective knowledge transfer to internal teams.
