The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Hotel Manager to join our team and help us deliver outstanding experiences for every guest. Working alongside the Hotel Manager, you’ll support daily operations, motivate our team, and keep everything running smoothly — all while embracing the relaxed, community-focused vibe that makes The Stump so special.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Hotel Manager in overseeing daily operations across bar, bistro, accommodation, and guest services
- Deliver consistently high levels of customer service, stepping in to resolve issues and create positive outcomes
- Supervise, train, and roster staff to ensure smooth service and a supportive team culture
- Assist with stock management, payroll, budgeting, and cost control
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Contribute to marketing initiatives, promotions, and community events
- Act as duty manager when the Hotel Manager is away
About You
- Experience in hospitality management or supervisory roles (hotel/pub experience a bonus)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Approachable, positive, and customer-focused
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
- A genuine passion for hospitality and building community connections
