About the Committee
* Follows up reports of the Victorian Auditor‐General's Office.
* Conducts inquiries into public administration and public sector finances.
* Oversees the Parliamentary Budget Office, the Victorian Auditor‐General's Office and Integrity Oversight Victoria.
* Scrutinises budget papers and reviews outcomes from government expenditure and revenue.
About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Analyst, you will provide research, analytical and administrative support to the Committee. Key responsibilities include:
* Drafting briefing papers, report chapters and recommendations.
* Preparing targeted questions for Estimates and Outcomes hearings.
* Coordinating public hearings and preparing briefing notes on attending departments, agencies and Ministers.
* Analysing evidence, submissions and transcripts, and preparing summaries.
* Preparing correspondence and committee documentation.
* Arranging meetings and site visits, and liaising with senior officers on procedural matters.
About You
You will have strong research and drafting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities. An interest in public administration, public finance and accountability is essential. Tertiary qualifications in public policy, economics, law, political science, commerce or a related field are highly regarded.
