About the role
Disability Support Worker (casual and part-time) in Lithgow, working in SIL Group Homes. Supports individuals living with disability in home or community to live as independently as possible. Provides personal care, health and hygiene assistance, home care and cleaning, community access, and supports participants to build independence, skills, and capacity.

Key responsibilities include
* Working varied shifts including early mornings, afternoons, active nights, and weekends.
* Assisting participants with personal care, health, feeding and hygiene, including showering, bowel care and catheter management.
* Supporting participants to work towards achieving their personal goals and aspirations.
* Assisting participants with daily tasks such as meals, cleaning and participation in community or internal activities and programs.
* Working collaboratively with other Disability Support Workers as part of a team.
* Communicating with families, guardians and advocates to discuss participants' progress and wellbeing.
* Undertaking manual handling of participants, including safe use of hoists, lifters and slide sheets.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Experience in a similar role or background in disability support is highly desirable
Safety & Compliance Requirements
* Current or willingness to obtain a Drivers Licence, First Aid, NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check.
* Available to work a rotating roster including nights and weekends, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
