Role Summary
This is your chance to build a career in the Civil Construction industry. You'll spend your days learning hands-on skills from helping with site preparation, using tools and machinery, laying foundations, and supporting the team working on major roadways. Along the way, you'll gain practical experience, earn a nationally recognised qualification in Certificate II Civil Construction and set yourself up for a long-term career in the industry. No prior experience needed, just a good attitude, reliability, and the willingness to learn on the job.
Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you'll be required to complete a pre-employment basic skills assessment and medical check (medical assessment will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component).
Successful candidates will commence employment on Tuesday, 27 January 20.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: The salary for this traineeship ranges from approximately $31,288 to $53,196 p.a. in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award. Your salary will be determined based on your age, qualifications, and any previous work experience. Superannuation (12%) is additional.
Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Depot located at 5a Blanch Street, Bulahdelah. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Full-time 38 hours per week over a 12-month period. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to continue their employment and roll-over into a Certificate III in Civil Construction after the 12-month period (subject to performance, commitment, and completion of study requirements).
