About the role

Kalgoorlie Golf Course is a world class 18-hole golf course known for its rolling fairways and pure greens cut amongst the renowned red dirt of the Goldfields. This unique golf course is on show every year for the WA PGA Championship. The facility has a full length under cover driving range, huge putting and chipping green and is home to a captive audience of 30,000 people locally plus another 13,000 in Esperance and regular visitors travelling to play the Nullarbor links (World's Longest Golf Course).

Kalgoorlie Golf Course is seeking to appoint an Assistant PGA Golf Professional to offer exceptional service and coaching to the local community and to work closely with PGA Head Professionals Correy and Jemma Price. This position has huge potential for growth and reward for effort based on the skills of the applicant.


Key Responsibilities

* Private tuition and group coaching: Provide individual and group coaching to local golfers, juniors and members.
* Junior Golf Program: Assist in delivering the club's junior golf program.
* Pro-shop service and expertise: Maintain a high level of professionalism through exceptional quality of service and advice to members and visitors.
* Club Fitting: Serving the members and public with club fitting from our full Wilson fitting cart and others.
* Golf Bookings and Events: Assist the Head Professionals and Golf Club in running weekly and major events.


Key Attributes Required

* PGA Membership: Certified PGA Member, ideally with advanced status in Coaching and/or Game Development
* Golf Coaching Experience: Must be passionate about golf coaching with an interest in helping all levels of golfer.
* Customer Service: Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with an attention to personal presentation and professionalism.
* Technical Skills: A familiarity with POS systems, Miclub and golf coaching technology preferred.
* Team player: Must be open minded and have the ability to work with our varied and dynamic team.


Position Remuneration/Entitlements

Reporting directly to the Head Professional, the hours will be open for discussion for this to be a full‑time, or part‑time salaried position pending the needs of the applicant at Level 6 wages, plus penalties, plus superannuation. Weekend work would likely be required.

Out of rostered hours coaching will be encapsulated in a separate Golf Professional Contract. This provides the successful candidate with additional earning opportunities with an industry leading 100% commission retained by the Assistant Professional.
