**Strategic and operational leadership role**:

- **Grow the impact of mental health first aid in Australia and beyond**:

- **Mental health training and research organisation**

**About the organisation**
Mental Health First Aid International (MHFA) is an Australian charity whose purpose is to provide high-quality, evidence-based accessible mental health first aid education to everyone. Its Mental Health First Aidprograms equip people with the knowledge and confidence to support someone who is experiencing a mental health problem. A global leader in mental health education and training, MHFA's core work is focused on research, innovation, training and knowledge sharing. Since delivery of the very first mental health first aid course in 2000, over 1 million Australians and 3 million people in 24 countries around the world have been trained in courses developed by MHFA.

**About the role**
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for leading a dynamic and impact-focused organisation. The role involves developing and implementing MHFA's annual operational plan, delivering on the objectives set out in MHFA's 2021-25 Strategic Plan and working with the Board in relation to longer-term strategic planning. The role also involves implementing a strong, values-led culture, leading a team of motivated and experienced staff, and stewarding the organisation's financial, intellectual and other assets. As part of driving performance, the CEO will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders including governments, corporates, universities and international partner organisations, and ensure compliance with regulatory and funder obligations. In this capacity, the CEO will provide inspiring leadership focused on growing the reach of mental health first aid within the Australian community and beyond.

**About you**
You present as a successful purpose-driven Chief Executive leader with a record of exceptional achievement in business growth, ideally in a not-for-profit sector context. This includes a proven ability to work with researchers and other professionals focused on delivering high-quality and evidence-based outcomes. An outstanding leader, you have experience in driving sustainable transformation with a sharp focus on culture and processes while effectively managing day-to-day operations, including strategy implementation, corporate governance, and financial and risk management. A cultivator of strong relationships with government, corporates, funding bodies, media and other stakeholders, you draw on your collaborative style, and sophisticated interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills. You are committed to advancing mental health literacy in Australia and around the world and relish the opportunity to support the work and growth of this globally recognised organisation.
