We’re working with a Brisbane-based MSSP looking for a Network Engineer who wants to step deeper into security, not in theory, but in real client environments. This is a hands-on role across both disciplines, where you’ll take ownership of client network environments, solve complex engineering challenges, and play a key role in improving service quality and security outcomes. You’ll be designing and supporting network infrastructure while contributing to security monitoring, incident response, and SIEM-driven investigations. What You Will Work On Design, deploy and support network infrastructure (routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN) Troubleshoot complex L2/L3 issues across multi-client environments Take ownership of client network environments and ongoing improvements Monitor and investigate security alerts through SIEM platforms Contribute to incident response and threat analysis activities Work with tools such as FortiSIEM, Sentinel, Splunk and Rapid7 Support network security improvements including segmentation and firewall policy design Engage directly with clients, providing clear technical updates and recommendations What We Are Looking For Strong experience in network engineering (routing, switching, firewalls) Exposure to or strong interest in cybersecurity (SIEM, SOC, threat analysis) Experience in MSP/MSSP or multi-client environments is highly regarded Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Sentinel, FortiSIEM or similar Ability to troubleshoot, think critically, and take ownership of problems Strong communication skills - comfortable working directly with clients Ideally looking for Australian Citizens - We will consider Permanent Residents Nice To Have Fortinet, Palo Alto or Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP, NSE, etc.) Experience with SD-WAN environments Exposure to Australian security frameworks (Essential Eight, ISO 27001, etc.) Scripting or automation experience Why You Will Love It Brisbane | Hybrid | Up to $150k Super Company car provided client site travel Build real depth across both Networking & Cyber Security (Fortinet, SIEM, SD-WAN) Certification support dedicated training time Exposure to a diverse client portfolio across multiple industries Clear pathway into senior engineering or security-focused roles Work in a team that values ownership, learning, and technical growth If you’re a network engineer who wants to break into security properly, not just talk about it, this is one worth exploring.
