About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Legal Counsel – Employee Relations to join our People & Culture team. This role is pivotal in providing expert legal advice and representation across complex employee relations matters within the JBS group of companies. You will work closely with HR professionals to ensure a proactive, compliant, and values-driven approach to workplace relations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide specialist legal advice on ER matters including performance management, grievances, investigations, disciplinary actions, redundancies, and terminations.
- Represent the organisation in employment litigation, including appearances before courts and tribunals.
- Conduct and oversee workplace investigations.
- Monitor legislative and case law developments to ensure contemporary ER practices.
- Support the development and implementation of the ER Framework and assurance programs.
- Partner with stakeholders to manage workplace changes in line with legal obligations.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A current unrestricted practising certificate and a minimum of 4 years’ post-admission experience in employment law.
- Demonstrated expertise in employment legislation and advocacy experience in relevant courts and tribunals.
- Robust legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to work autonomously and build collaborative relationships across the business.
