Turf Mechanic - Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions
Adelaide Oval Turf Solutions (AOTS) brings the Adelaide Oval team and its unparalleled expertise and high-quality workmanship to sporting grounds, clubs and community spaces across South Australia and beyond.
The Turf Mechanic will be responsible for the servicing, repair, preparation and ongoing maintenance of all AOTS machinery, vehicles and equipment to ensure site-readiness and capability to support daily operational demands.
This position is based at Adelaide Oval, however travel will be required to AOTS job sites. Interstate travel may be required.
What you'll be working on
* Routinely service, repair and maintain all AOTS machinery, vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable daily operation.
* Conduct diagnostics and perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical repairs on equipment and machinery as required.
* Maintain a preventative maintenance program and schedule for all AOTS machinery.
* Prepare and reset equipment, tools and vehicles each afternoon to support efficient morning deployments for Grounds Staff.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records, service logs and asset documentation.
* Attend offsite locations to support with mechanical issues, breakdowns, or urgent repairs.
* Identify mechanical risks, faults and safety issues and escalate or rectify according to WHS procedures.
* Liaise with the Adelaide Oval Turf Mechanic with regards to repairs and maintenance of shared equipment and ordering of parts.
What you'll bring
* Technical skills and experience providing end-to-end mechanical maintenance support.
* Experience with servicing and repairing grounds equipment and turf machinery.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills and a strong attention to detail.
* Understanding of WHS regulations.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise workload and respond effectively to urgent mechanical issues.
* An understanding of the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word and Outlook).
* Experience working in the turf industry (preferred).
What you need for this role
* Out of hours/event day work is a requirement of this role.
* This is a hands-on position.
* Working With Children Check (to be attained within the first two months of commencement).
* A current HR driver's licence or willingness to obtain.
* Ability to use computer systems such as Microsoft Office and app-based systems.
The role is a PM shift so support can be provided for the AOTS Grounds Staff when they return to Adelaide Oval at the end of their day. Full-time hours are no less than 38 hours per week, with the standard shift being 11:30am-8pm with a 54-minute unpaid break.
