Our evolving studio is seeking highly motivated and engaged individuals to join our team including a talented full-time Architectural Draftsperson.
Location: 17 Short Street, Southport, Qld, 4215 Position: Full-Time Architectural Draftsperson with proficiency in ArchiCAD and attention for detail. Hours: Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week The Role: In joining Burling Brown Architects, you will require a Bachelor Degree in Architecture, proficiency in ArchiCAD and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient design and documentation for complex and diverse projects.
You will work in all phases of project timelines, from conceptualisation to construction delivery. The role requires a high level of detail and quality project standards with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with clients, consultants and colleagues. At least 12 months work experience in a similar position is required.
Experience in education, understanding of the relevant legislation in QLD and beyond including Australian standards and NCC Building code requirements and funding for school projects (BGA) is advantageous. Salary range: $70,000 - $80,000K per annum plus superannuation. Task & responsibilities Prepare accurate drawings, models, and technical documentation using ArchiCAD/BIM software. Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Microsoft Suite, Apple Software and Workstations. ??Develop construction details and schedules to support project delivery.
??Assist architects and project leads in developing design solutions. Ensure design intent is maintained through documentation. ??Apply knowledge of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, and planning requirements in documentation.
Support preparation of approval submissions. ??Liaise with consultants, suppliers, and contractors to obtain and incorporate technical information. ??Assist in coordinating documentation across disciplines.
Contribute to the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of project drawings and specifications. ??Follow office standards, protocols, and QA procedures. ??Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and project goals.
??Support graduate staff and contribute to a positive studio culture. ??Ability to prepare design documentation and schedules for project funding submissions. Carry out detailed site documentation via measure up, as built reviews and photographic documentation.
Strong understanding of building services with the ability to co-ordinate and communicate with Engineer's and Specialist Consultants. Ability to research building products and materials suitable for specific projects for suitability with the requirements of the NCC and Australian Standards. Strong communication skills to liaise with building product / material representatives and suppliers.
