About The Strategy And Transformation Team
The Strategy and Transformation team focuses on the development and implementation of the Authority’s vision and strategic plan. The team are responsible for the following key areas: strategic planning and business improvement; transition and establishment of the Authority.
The team works collaboratively across the Authority, fostering strong partnerships with the Board and CEO, local and state governments and relevant agencies, Traditional Owners, community, business and special interest groups, contributing to the ongoing success in establishing the Authority and delivering on its outcomes.
Purpose of the position
The position will support the transition of responsibility for direct management of national parks within the South-West Region, from Parks Victoria to GORCAPA.
Working as part of the Strategy and Transformation team, the Senior Project Officer will project manage the transfer of information from Parks Victoria to GORCAPA, as well as undertake projects to support GORCAPA to operationalise its direct management of national parks.
Please note - This role is Full-Time and Fixed-Term Contract for 1 year (12 months), ceasing approximately March 2027, pending commencement date. Working from Torquay Head Office 3 x days per week and 2 x days from home.
Key Accountabilities
Project management of multiple projects related to the transition of direct management of national parks from Parks Victoria to GORCAPA.Provide guidance to the team, broader organisation and key stakeholders in relation to project requirements and activities, including maintaining positive working relationships.Prepare reports and recommendations through the interpretation and analysis of a wide variety of data, policies, legislation and supporting documentation.Prepare analysis and advice that contributes to decision making by others, including the Authority executive.Conduct field or desk-top research to collate and validate key operational information.Assist in planning, budgeting, and alignment of the portfolio of projects to strategic organisational drivers and objectives.Identify opportunities for improvement of existing organisational processes, procedures, systems, and services, and where appropriate lead the development of supporting content.Lead related enabling projects which support broader organisational objectives, system developments or improvements.Undertake diverse administrative processes including managing and maintaining project registers, databases, and electronic files to support the governance and reporting requirements relative to the project and directorate.
