Role Overview
Reporting to the Director, Finance Business Partners, the Assistant Director supports informed, strategic decision making across the department through the provision of expert financial advice, analysis and budget management. Working as part of a motivated and professional finance team with diverse skills and backgrounds, the EL1 Finance Business Partner plays a leading role in strengthening financial management across the organisation's activities. The role partners closely with senior leaders delivering accurate budget management, monthly reporting and clear, well‐reasoned financial advice through concise written and verbal briefings.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Building and sustaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation to help them manage their budgets and forecasts.
* Develop and manage departmental budgets, including staffing.
* Monitor and review monthly forecasts in partnership with our stakeholders.
* Prepare monthly financial reports for Senior Executive, including variance analysis and commentary.
* Preparing and presenting advice and support to clients on a range of financial matters.
* Managing and supporting a team in the delivery of professional, accurate, timely and customer‐focused financial services.
* Prepare monthly financial accruals, and provide input into the end‐of‐financial‐year process, including ANAO audit requests.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Australian citizenship or in the process of obtaining it.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
