Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler to support the successful delivery of a large-scale, complex government program within a Tier 1 Commonwealth agency. This role will contribute to the development, maintenance and ongoing management of the Program's master schedule, ensuring effective coordination of activities, dependencies and critical paths across multiple delivery streams.
The Senior Scheduler will play a pivotal role in monitoring, tracking and evaluating program progress, identifying risks and schedule impacts, and developing and facilitating intervention strategies where required. Working closely with stakeholders across the Program, the role will provide detailed analysis, reporting and insights to support informed decision-making and governance processes.
In addition to scheduling responsibilities, the role will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of high-quality program documentation, including executive briefings, status reports, committee papers, presentations, plans and reporting artefacts. Strong relationship-management skills are essential, as the Senior Scheduler will collaborate across program, branch and agency stakeholders to uplift scheduling maturity and continuously improve planning and reporting practices.
This position offers an opportunity to work within a high-profile reform program, contributing to strengthened governance, improved delivery outcomes, and enhanced transparency and accountability across the Program.
What We're Looking For:
Demonstrated experience managing schedules within large-scale ICT programs or projects, ideally in a government environment.
Strong experience developing and maintaining integrated program schedules, including dependency and critical path management.
Proven capability using Microsoft Project for scheduling and Azure DevOps for tracking and reporting.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments, including coordination across multiple delivery teams.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate program progress, identify risks, and develop mitigation or intervention strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings and governance artefacts.
High attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to change and uncertainty.
Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship-management skills.
Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information in line with legislative and governance requirements.
Australian citizenship with an active Baseline security clearance (required prior to commencement).
Work location: ACT, NSW, VIC or QLD (Hybrid working arrangements available).
