Sugar Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Packing & Warehouse Operator to join our team in a permanent full-time capacity at our Yarraville, VIC site. Reporting to the Production Manager, Packing & Warehouse, you will play a key role in operating plant and packaging equipment while ensuring safety and quality in our processes. The primary shift roster for this position is 12-hour shifts, Monday to Wednesday from 6am to 6pm.
**Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to**:
- Safely and efficiently operating packaging machinery and equipment to produce finished goods to required standards.
- Performing warehouse duties, including driving forklifts and loading/unloading trucks.
- Completing daily shift logs.
- Collaborating with the team to achieve weekly packing and distribution goals.
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety in all equipment and work areas to prevent contamination.
- Completing production, quality, and safety documentation to required standards.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, reduce operating costs, and minimise waste.
- Working closely with maintenance to troubleshoot and perform necessary repairs.
- Training and upskilling team members on packaging equipment and procedures.
**What we're wanting you to bring to the table**:
This role is ideally suited to someone who is highly motivated, with a strong commitment to safety and teamwork. You should have:
- A High School Certificate with basic numerical and verbal skills.
- A valid forklift licence.
- Previous experience in an operating environment is desirable.
- Licence to perform high risk work is desirable.
- Fitting and Electrical Trade qualifications is desirable.
- Mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work shiftwork and adapt to changing situations.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.
