Firefighter Role Overview
This is a challenging role that requires individuals to respond to emergency situations, protect communities, and provide essential services.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to fires, road crashes, technical rescues, and other emergencies as part of a fire crew.
* Operate emergency response vehicles and equipment safely and effectively.
* Provide first aid and resuscitation where required.
* Maintain QFD equipment, resources, and facilities to ensure operational readiness.
Community Safety Operations:
* Promote community awareness in fire prevention through education programs and activities.
* Assist with property inspections, building checks, and development of evacuation plans and emergency procedures.
Professional Development:
* Develop and maintain competencies required by QFD.
* Participate in relevant training programs for tactical, operational, and technical functions.
Operations Business Management:
* Contribute to administrative duties and maintenance of station records.
* Support a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organisational health policies.
Requirements:
* Current Blue Card from Blue Card Services.
* Manual Medium Rigid (MR) driver's licence recognised by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
* Apply First Aid Certificate and Advanced Resuscitation Certificate.
* Compliance with QFD medical and fitness standards.
* Criminal History Check and Clinical Psychometric Assessment.
