About The Role
The Development Engineering Team within the Planning and Environment Division plays a key role supporting and facilitating development across the local government area through the timely and efficient provision of expert engineering advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on the engineering aspects of proposed subdivisions and developments. Reporting to the Coordinator Development Engineering, this an exciting and challenging role that will shape the future of Campbelltown.
Responsibilities
* Appraise subdivision road and drainage plans and development engineering design plans and ensure that they comply with best engineering design and construction principles, and Council requirements.
* Assume the role of Principal Certifier to carry out mandatory inspections during construction ensuring works comply with the development consent and legislative requirements.
* Review and impose engineering conditions for subdivision and development applications.
* Review and approve linen plans and 88B Instruments for compliance with Council's engineering requirements.
* Assess and determine Subdivision Works Certificates, Section 138 & Section 68 applications.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in an engineering or surveying discipline.
* Extensive knowledge of legislation relating to development, including the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 & Regulations, the Local Government Act 1993 and Regulations and the Roads Act 1993.
* Extensive experience in engineering road and drainage design and construction supervision.
* Ability to provide workable and effective solutions for urban engineering road and drainage designs or construction problems in a changing environment.
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication, organisational and time‐management skills.
* General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card) and current class C driver's licence.
