Senior Platform Engineer
Job Description
DFP Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Senior Platform Engineer to join our Federal Government Client team. This role is pivotal to ensuring the effective performance, integration, and automation of cloud-based Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environments and associated analytics platforms.
This Senior Platform Engineer will be responsible for:
* Provisioning, configuring, and managing EDW accounts, warehouses, roles, and storage layers using automation tools and EDW APIs.
* Designing secure and scalable EDW environments across development, test, and production tiers.
* Implementing and maintaining EDW object lifecycle management, cost optimization strategies, and storage/compute scaling policies.
* Maintaining reusable pipeline templates for consistent deployment and governance across projects.
* Automating EDW infrastructure and pipeline deployments using Terraform.
* Developing CI/CD pipelines to manage schema changes, SQL transformations, and metadata management via GitOps practices.
* Establishing monitoring and alerting for warehouse usage, query performance, and health metrics using Resource Monitors, native logs, third-party observability platforms.
* Analysing long-running queries and advising on optimizations.
* Managing secrets securely and ensuring encrypted access to EDW via key vaults, OAuth, or SSO integrations.
* Supporting data governance by aligning EDW platform configurations with enterprise compliance standards (e.g., ISO27001, SOC2, GDPR).
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
* 5 years' experience working with Data & Analytics Platforms.
* Proven experience with the management of SAS Grid, SAS Visual Analytics & Teradata.
* Experience in integrating devops with data & analytics platforms.
* Demonstrated experience in integration between data & analytics platforms and data applications.
* Experience working in Government or providing services to Government agency preferred.
* Demonstrated experienced in integration design patterns, data & analytics is essential for this position.
* Demonstrated experience in delivering and maintaining enterprise solutions that have a high organisation change impact.
* Certifications in SAS technologies, Teradata, Dev/Ops and Agile.
