Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Fitter
Maintain and repair mobile plant assets at Port Adelaide, ensuring their safety, reliability and efficiency.
About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Mechanic to join our Port Services Maintenance team at Berth 29 in Port Adelaide. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing our mobile plant assets.
* Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance on port mobile plant and infrastructure.
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults and breakdowns.
* Conduct risk assessments and adhere to WHS procedures.
* Scope maintenance work and work with planners to prioritise tasks.
* Be available on-call for urgent breakdowns as required.
* Input data into asset management systems.
* Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and asset reliability.
Requirements
* Cert III in Engineering - Mechanical or equivalent (Mandatory).
* Mechanical trade experience (Preferred).
* Auto electrical diagnostic skills (Preferred).
* Crane industry experience (Preferred).
* Experience in heavy diesel serving mechanical maintenance and fault diagnostics.
* Ability to obtain Maritime Safety Identification Card (MSIC).
* Demonstrated computer and software skills (SAP experience highly regarded).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Commitment to safety and compliance with WHS standards.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work with planners and supervisors.
* C Class drivers licence (unrestricted or provisional).
