Kununurra, Wyndham and Halls Creek Health Services (KWHCHS) are seeking a Full Time Aboriginal Health Worker to join their team

Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: Provides culturally appropriate support, care, treatment and education to clients attending Kununurra, Wyndham or Halls Creek Hospital’s Emergency and Out-Patients department as part of the multidisciplinary team. Provides support and education to other health services staff on aspects of care where cultural sensitivity is required.
Area Profile: WACHS Kimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS.
The Kimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over 34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of the population are Aboriginal and/or
Torres Strait Islander people. WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community
Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health,
community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health and support staff.
