About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Advisor to join our team at the Fosterville site. This role is pivotal in fostering a strong safety and environmental culture across our mining and civil construction operations. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with legislative requirements, company policies, and industry best practices, while actively identifying and mitigating risks to protect personnel and the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Compliance
* Ensure adherence to WHS legislation, regulations, and company policies.
* Conduct regular site inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions.
* Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses.
* Maintain and update safety management systems and documentation.
Environment Management
* Monitor environmental performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Assist in developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
* Conduct audits and inspections related to waste, water, dust, and noise.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and prepare environmental reports.
Training & Education
* Deliver HSE instructions and toolbox talks.
* Support the development of HSE training programs.
* Promote HSE awareness across the site.
Risk Management
* Assist in hazard identification and control.
* Facilitate risk assessments, JSA's, and SWMS.
* Support emergency response planning and drills.
Reporting & Documentation
* Maintain accurate records of incidents, inspections, audits, and training.
* Prepare and submit regular HSE performance reports.
* Analyse HSE metrics to identify trends and improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
* Provide HSE guidance to operational teams.
* Foster a proactive safety culture through engagement and leadership.
About you:
Education & Experience
* Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
* 3-5 years' experience in a similar HSE role within the mining and/or civil construction industry.
* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Licences & Certifications
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Construction White Card.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental legislation.
* Proficient in incident investigation and risk assessment.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and support senior safety personnel.
* Willingness to learn and manage safety administration systems.
