Job Description
Why You'll Love This Role
You'll play a critical role in shaping how community safety services are governed, improved and delivered across one of WA's largest local governments. Working closely with senior leaders, you'll provide high-level policy advice, legislative interpretation and data-driven insights that support safer communities and better decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing
Develop and review community safety policies and procedures
Interpret legislation and translate into operational guidance
Provide governance, compliance and risk management advice
Undertake research, analysis and environmental scanning
Prepare briefings, reports and business cases
Develop insights through data, KPIs and dashboards
Improve systems, workflows and quality assurance processes
Support audits, reforms and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a policy professional with strong analytical capability and a passion for public sector governance. You'll ideally bring:
Tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience
Policy, governance or compliance experience in government
Strong legislative interpretation and advisory capability
High-level written communication and report writing skills
Research, data analysis and insight development experience
Stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Ability to manage competing priorities autonomously
Experience supporting change and process improvement
