Lead ASIC's specialist Commission Secretariat team to drive effective corporate governance in ASIC by efficiently managing and coordinating executive-level meetings in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible location – Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra preferred
Salary from $152,074 + 15.4% superannuation
Temporary, 12-month position, with possibility of extension

The team
The Commission Secretariat team supports corporate governance in ASIC by managing and coordinating Commission and Commission Committee Meetings. The Commission Secretary leads and oversees the Commission Secretariat team.
The team is located in the Commission Executive Office, which provides strategic advice and operational support to the Chair and Commissioners, and operates as a link between the Commission, senior leadership, subject matter experts and specialist teams across ASIC.
The key duties of the position include:
As the Commission Secretary, you will:
Manage and coordinate the efficient operation of all Commission and key Commission Committee meetings, including ASIC's Enforcement, Regulatory, and Risk Committees.
Lead and support a small specialist team of Secretariat staff.
Oversee efficient and timely preparation and distribution of agendas, meeting papers and supporting communication, conflict management, and minute-taking.
Liaise with a wide range of ASIC teams to collate meeting materials and monitor quality and timeliness.
Partner with the Chair and Commission to support efficient and effective meeting operations in a fast-paced environment.
Develop and update Committee Terms of Reference and meeting-related policies and procedures as required.
Maintain registers for the holding and use of the ASIC common seal.
Support the Companies Auditors Disciplinary Board (CADB) Chair to oversee the CADB Registrar function.
Eligibility
The ideal candidate will have experience in coordinating executive-level meetings and overseeing provision of high-level secretariat support, as well as the ability to effectively lead a small specialist team. Skilled in stakeholder engagement and navigating complex legislative frameworks, you thrive in fast-paced environments and take ownership of outcomes.
You will also have:
Bachelor's degree in finance, law, economics, commerce or a related field (preferred).
Proven ability to interact with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
High level organizational and administrative skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Exposure to the legislation relevant to the functions of ASIC, including the Corporations Act and related legislation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as relevant document management and meeting management software.
