ABOUT THE ROLE
Norton Gold Fields is seeking an experiencedHSSET Managerto lead our Health, Safety, Security, Emergency Services and Training teams. Reporting to the GM – HSEC, this senior leadership role ensures compliance with WHS legislation, builds a strong safety culture, and provides proactive support to operational teams across our sites.
YOUR KEY DUTIES
* Lead, mentor and manage HSSET Superintendents and teams.
* Drive compliance with the WHS Act 2020, WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 and ISO 45001.
* Oversee Mine Safety Management Systems and risk management processes.
* Manage emergency response, incident investigation, injury management and security functions.
* Foster a strong safety culture through leadership, training, and stakeholder engagement.
* Build and maintain relationships with regulators, government agencies and contractors.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* Recognised qualification in safety/risk discipline with a postgraduate qualification (essential).
* Minimum 5 years of mining industry HSSET leadership experience.
* Site Senior Executive (statutory requirement).
* Applied First Aid (Cert II Pre-hospital Care) or other emergency qualifications (desirable).
* Recognised Auditing qualification (desirable).
* Associate Membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygiene (desirable).
* Proven record of developing and implementing safety and training programs.
* Thorough knowledge of WA mining safety legislation, standards and codes of practice.
* Experience managing or participating in Emergency Response Teams.
* Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Competent with Microsoft Suite and HSE software (Cintellate, Chemalert, Rapid).
* Able to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines.
