About the Role
South East Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation (SETAC) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to step into a Nursing Clinical Lead role within our comprehensive primary health service. This is a senior clinical leadership position that combines hands-on clinical practice with professional nursing leadership. You will maintain a clinical caseload while strengthening nursing standards, supporting clinical governance, and mentoring the nursing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive nursing care across clinic, home and outreach settings
* Conduct advanced clinical assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
* Lead nursing components of chronic disease management programs
* Coordinate referrals, case conferencing and continuity of care
* Deliver immunisation, screening and preventive health programs
* Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation in Communicare
* Provide professional supervision and mentoring to Registered and Enrolled Nurses
* Contribute to accreditation, audit and Continuous Quality Improvement activities
* Monitor compliance with medication safety, infection control and cold chain management
* Identify and escalate clinical risks in accordance with governance processes
* Deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed and strengths-based care
Selection Criteria
(Applicants must address the following criteria in their application)
* Demonstrated advanced clinical nursing practice and ability to lead safe, evidence-based care in primary health settings, including chronic disease management and coordination of multidisciplinary care.
* Sound knowledge of NMBA professional standards and NSQHS requirements, and the ability to apply these within a clinical governance framework, including identification and appropriate escalation of clinical risks.
* Proficiency in clinical information systems (e.g. Communicare) and ability to maintain accurate documentation and use clinical data to support audit, reporting and quality improvement activities.
* Proven ability to provide professional supervision, mentoring and clinical guidance to nursing staff and students.
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including General Practitioners and Aboriginal Health Workers, in integrated service models.
* Ability to work in genuine partnership with Aboriginal colleagues, recognising cultural authority and supporting Aboriginal-led decision-making, and to provide culturally safe, respectful care to Aboriginal clients and families.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to manage sensitive conversations and build trust with clients, colleagues and community members.
* Demonstrated reflective practice, responsiveness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement and professional accountability in a changing service environment.
Essential Requirements
* Bachelor of Nursing
* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
* Current unrestricted Tasmanian driver's licence
* Satisfactory National Police Check
* Working with Vulnerable People Check
* Compliance with NMBA professional development requirements

Nurses Award [MA000034]Salary commensurate with experience.
