YOUR ROLE
CEVA Logistics has an opportunity for an experienced General Manager in Business Development - Air to join our business, based in Banksmeadow NSW. The primary purpose of this role is to increase net revenue through establishment of new business whilst also developing additional business from new and existing accounts within the air and ocean lanes.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Develop a strategy for new business opportunities within the Air and Ocean product line.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage sales opportunities for new and existing clients within the air and ocean space.
- Establish high-level, significant relationships with potential clients, customers, partners, key decision-makers, and industry leaders to promote the organisation's services.
- Lead meetings and negotiations with potential clients and business partners to pursue business opportunities and protect the organisation's business interests.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, in particular operations staff whenever it is needed to ensure the sales plan is fully executed and on boarded appropriately
- Ensure the annual plan and any revisions of the budget for business development, in collaboration with the competent operational division is met
- Ensure prospect and opportunity pipelines have sufficient revenue to drive an actual outcome that shows at least 3.5 times individual cost (derived from current company policy)
- Assist in prospecting and qualifying leads from internal & external sources, whilst continuing to grow and develop internal relationships.
- Utilize the company CRM to manage calendar, customer accounts, contacts and opportunities as specified and within required timelines.
- Prepare and present proposals to clients and prospective clients as required by client requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information and within clients' specific periods.
- Develop pricing, service and product strategies to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.
- Co-ordinate and effectively communicate in timely manner with field sales, operations, customers and overseas offices for quotations and business issues.
- Adhere to the requirements set out for Sales staff under most current Sales Strategy, meet weekly activity targets and build internal relationships to leverage off new sales where required.
- Continually improve knowledge of Company products and services.
- Work with other sales and operational staff in all lines of business to promote and gain new revenues for CEVA.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Experience, preferably industry specific within air and ocean solutions.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field (Logistics or Business) preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics principals and processes.
- Detailed understanding of sales timelines and generation of new business.
- High level verbal, written communication and problem solving skills.
- High level of experience in the delivery of presentation and solutions.
- Highly developed attention to detail and integrity.
- Strong Microsoft suite software skills (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint).
- Capable of dealing with pressured scenarios in a calm and systematic manner.
- A strong customer service and customer relationship management orientation
