Job Expectations

We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a Lead Fleet Operations. This role will report to the Senior Fleet Manager.

A bit about your role

As Lead Fleet Operations, you will be the central point of coordination for fleet management across nbn nationally. You will oversee the full vehicle lifecycle from acquisition through to replacement ensuring decisions are informed by data, cost efficiency and operational needs. Your role will be instrumental in maintaining service standards, managing supplier relationships and supporting the delivery of fleet-related projects across the business.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure fleet operations are aligned with broader organisational goals. You will also play a key role in supporting nbn's sustainability targets, helping to implement our hybrid and electric vehicle strategy. In addition to operational oversight, you will manage the relationship with our offshore administration team and act as the first point of escalation for the Fleet Coordinator. Your ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery will be essential in keeping our fleet running smoothly and sustainably.

A bit about you

The successful candidate will bring solid experience in fleet management. You understand how the various components - vehicles, suppliers, data and people connect to deliver a reliable and cost-effective operation. You are confident working with data and have strong Excel skills that support informed decision-making.

You are a clear communicator who can build trust and navigate challenging conversations with ease. This will see you comfortably managing stakeholders at all levels and bring a practical, solutions-focused mindset to every interaction. Your confidence and assertiveness help you maintain oversight and influence outcomes, even in complex or high-pressure situations.
