Director of Emergency Response
This role oversees the planning, organization, and operation of emergency services for Northumberland County. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public safety and emergency management, with experience in coordinating response efforts and developing emergency plans. Key responsibilities include directing the 911 Emergency Communications Center, overseeing emergency management programs, and supervising employees and volunteers.
The successful candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in public safety and/or emergency management. They will also hold EMA County Coordinator Basic Certification and have comprehensive knowledge of federal and state emergency management rules and regulations.
This is a full-time exempt position that requires regular presence at work sites and availability to provide on-call support 24 hours a day/seven days a week. A valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable transportation are also required.
