A major government is embarking on one of Australia's largest and most complex ERP transformations. With a significant asset base and a wide-reaching service portfolio, the program will modernise core operations, streamline processes, and enable future growth through the implementation of SAP S/4HANA RISE, Private Cloud Edition.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead the end-to-end technical delivery of this program. This pivotal role will oversee planning, integration, implementation, and cutover from legacy SAP ECC and associated systems to the new S/4HANA environment. Working within the SAP Activate framework, you will drive governance, mitigate risk, and ensure a seamless transition across a complex technical and stakeholder landscape.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the technical delivery of the SAP S/4HANA implementation, including system design, integration, infrastructure readiness, and cutover.
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned to program milestones.
* Manage technical risks, issues, dependencies, and vendor performance.
* Collaborate with program leadership, IT teams, business stakeholders, and third-party service providers.
* Oversee quality assurance and technical governance across the project lifecycle.
* Support post-go-live stabilisation and transition into BAU operations.
* Provide leadership and direction to technical teams and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
About You
You are a seasoned SAP Technical Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering large-scale ERP programs. You bring a blend of deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and stakeholder management skills, able to navigate complexity and deliver results in high-stakes environments.
Essential Experience:
* 10+ years in SAP technical project management with hands-on S/4HANA implementation expertise.
* Strong knowledge of SAP architecture, system integration, data migration, and infrastructure delivery.
* Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and agile frameworks.
* Experience with SAP RISE platforms and large-scale, multi-release SAP transformations.
* Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills.
Highly Regarded:
* ERP delivery experience in large, complex organisations.
* SAP SuccessFactors and Employee Central implementation exposure.
* SAP Solution Manager, CHaRM, and enterprise release management experience.
* Large-scale infrastructure implementation background.
