Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and motivated commercial lawyer to support our dynamic and growing legal function. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of commercial, regulatory, projects and dispute-related matters in various sectors.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic, independent legal advice to senior stakeholders to enable the business to achieve its commercial objectives while effectively managing legal and regulatory risk.
* Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including procurement, supply and services agreements.
* Advise on regulatory and compliance matters including workplace health and safety, environmental and public liability issues, insurance, privacy, IP, risk and general corporate issues.
* Manage and resolve commercial disputes and claims.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators and owners' representatives, and contribute to key projects and broader business initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
* Admitted as a lawyer in Australia.
* Practising as a commercial lawyer for 8-10 years in private practice and/or in-house.
* Strong analytical and strategic advisory skills, with the ability to interpret complex legislation and provide clear, pragmatic, business-focused advice.
* Proven experience across commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, WHS, disputes and general corporate matters.
* Collaborative, adaptable and self-motivated, with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
