We are seeking a motivated and empathetic person to facilitate Drink / Drug Driver Behaviour Change Programs in Mildura, VIC. This is a casual role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in our local community. As a Facilitator, you will lead interactive group sessions based on a motivational interviewing communication method. Allowing participants a chance to understand the personal and social consequences of drink and drug driving and develop strategies to reduce the risk of re-offending.
What you'll be doing
Facilitate an engaging and interactive group sessions for participants in the Drink / Drug Driver Behaviour Change Program
Create a supportive and non-judgmental environment that encourages open discussion and self-reflection
Help participants develop practical strategies to change their behaviour and make safer choices
Provide one-on-one support and guidance to participants as needed
Engage in ongoing supervision sessions
Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with program requirements
Collaborate with the broader program team to continuously improve the delivery and outcomes of the program
What we're looking for
Relevant bachelor level qualification in either psychology, social work, a health related field or human services.
Completed or willing to complete Alcohol and other drug (AOD) core competencies
Experience or training in facilitating group programs or workshops
Two or more years experience, working with mandated clients and/or in the AOD field of work
Completed or willing to complete Forensic Fundamentals training
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and engage with a diverse range of participants
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach when working with vulnerable individuals
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
A current driver's licence without any drink or drug driving offences in the previous 10 years
A current police check and working with children's check is also required.
What we offer
Competitive hourly rate with casual work arrangements
Flexible hours- could be half days, weekend work, after hours, school hours etc.
Casual hours would be for approximately 8 hours most weeks, possibility to increase hours with experience
