Our team is growing, and we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer at our Macquarie Park office (in Sydney), for a Full Time role.
This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with Australian payroll legislation and company policies.
This Full Time permanent role is based in our Macquarie Park corporate office.
About the Role
As a Payroll Officer with us, you'll play a crucial role in supporting our team.
You'll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a specific portfolio, ensuring seamless end-to-end payroll processing across a dynamic division.
What You'll Do
Overall day-to-day management of a specific portfolio including end-to-end pay run processing across a segment and any ad-hoc pay runs
Manage employee records, leave entitlements, and salary packaging
Responsible for the timely follow-up and response to all payroll queries within KPI standards
Process new employees, ongoing maintenance and leave
Provide termination and redundancy estimates as required
Process all salary, bonuses and other ad-hoc payroll items related to the Australian Operational Division
Ensure compliance with Fair Work regulations, Modern Awards, and Enterprise Agreements
Liaise with internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies
Stay updated with changes in Australian payroll legislation and best practices
Assist with system upgrades, automation, and process improvements
Manage payroll operations workflow from ServiceNow
Provide training to other team members where required
Qualifications & Experience
A friendly, customer-focused approach with strong communication skills
Proven experience in payroll across both blue- and white-collar employees
Sound understanding of awards, enterprise agreements, and payroll legislation
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with confident decision-making
Experience using payroll systems such as CHRIS21/iCHRIS or similar systems
