We are seeking a Power Systems Engineer to work adjacent to our growing Energy Market Modelling team and expand our capabilities in power system modelling that underpins our broader expertise in energy markets.
This position is ideal for a mid to senior-level engineer, with a solid technical foundation in power systems and passion for driving the energy transition.
The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of advanced power system engineering projects, with a focus on expanding Endgame's power system modelling capabilities.
This role combines technical expertise in power systems with strong communication skills to deliver high-quality work in a consulting environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Conduct marginal loss factor and thermal curtailment studies for a broad range of projects.
Improve upon existing and develop new tools, processes and methods for analysing and understanding power systems undergoing transformation from thermal synchronous systems to IBR dominated systems.
Provide expert technical, strategic and policy support to system operators, transmission network service providers, generation developers and owners and policy makers throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Prepare documentation (reports and presentations) to meet project requirements and deliver presentations to clients, as well as to the industry more broadly.
This role will work independently (with support from the wider business), reporting directly to the Managing Director.
As the business grows, there will be opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities and contribute to the growth of a Power Systems team.
ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate must display the following skills and/or experience: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant courses.
3+ years prior industry experience in energy markets, power system analysis and design.
Prior experience using power flow simulation tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Powerfactory, etc.
Demonstrate strong quantitative skills and capable programming skills for data analysis and tool automation (e.g.
Python, R).
Existing knowledge of Australian energy markets, power system operations, policy and regulation.
Efficient time management and prioritisation skills.
The ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing.
Previous project delivery experience in a consulting environment is highly desired.
