Key Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment: Evaluate loan and credit applications by analysing financial statements, credit reports, cash flow projections, and other relevant documentation to determine creditworthiness.
Risk Analysis: Identify and assess financial, operational, and market risks associated with credit applications, providing recommendations to mitigate risks.
Compliance: Ensure all credit assessments and processes comply with Australian financial regulations, including the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (NCCP), Banking Code of Practice, and guidelines from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC).
Report Preparation: Prepare detailed credit reports and present findings to credit committees or senior management to support lending decisions.
Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders to gather additional information and clarify application details as needed.
Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor existing credit portfolios, identifying early warning signs of potential defaults and recommending appropriate actions.
Policy Adherence: Follow internal credit policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks while staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and risk management teams to ensure a streamlined credit approval process.
