Electrical Engineer Role Summary
Job Description:
Mackay Sugar is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems, providing technical support, and delivering minor projects while ensuring compliance with Australian and internal standards.
Main Responsibilities Include:
* Develop and implement effective electrical maintenance strategies to enhance plant reliability.
* Provide technical assistance to site-based operations and maintenance teams.
* Preserve, maintain, and update technical assets including drawings, manuals, investigation records, and program code.
* Prepare and implement minor capital project proposals, including scope of works, engineering designs, project schedules, and budget estimates in consultation with site production and maintenance teams.
* Ensure that electrical works are implemented according to Australian and internal standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Trade Certificate and Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related field with minimum 2 years experience in a technical role.
* A thorough understanding of the Electrical Safety Act and associated Electrical Standards.
* Proficient in electrical design software including AutoCAD and Power Tools for Windows.
* Experience in PLC/DCS & SCADA development, commissioning, and fault finding is well regarded but not essential.
* Computer literacy in Microsoft applications and Maintenance Management systems including Microsoft Office Suite and ERP applications (SAP).
* Strong demonstrated WHS & E knowledge.
