Overview
Senior Investment Research Specialist
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Investments team. This role will be based in either Sydney (Barangaroo) or Melbourne (Docklands). This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Responsibilities
* Conduct in-depth research and rating of Australian and New Zealand equity strategies, including performance analysis, peer group comparisons, and interviews with key decision-makers.
* Prepare clear, concise investment due diligence reports supporting research ratings and present findings to internal committees and clients.
* Collaborate with global research teams on projects, process improvements, and producing investment analysis and white papers.
* Articulate Mercer's research process and investment views to clients and external stakeholders, representing Mercer within the investment management community.
* Support broader team activities and contribute to maintaining Mercer's reputation as a leader in investment research.
What you need to have
* Experience in the investment management industry preferred.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to make decisions based on qualitative and quantitative data.
* Excellent report writing skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Confident in engaging with investment managers and challenging their strategies.
* Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of presenting and defending views both verbally and in writing.
* Stable employment record demonstrating growth in responsibility.
* Solid academic background and computer literacy.
* Willingness to undertake administrative tasks as needed.
