The Role:

Within the Agency Framework, and in accordance with Agency policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a pivotal leadership role in the development, delivery, and evaluation of Health Services at the Central Highlands Community Health Service (Ouse, Tasmania).

Operating within a defined scope of practice, the NP ensures high-quality, person-centred care that supports improved health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

The NP is responsible as a leader, advisor, and mentor for other nurses and clinicians to ensure high-level clinical excellence in Sub-Acute, Aged, and Community Services.

This position is central to:
* Improving continuity of care for rural communities.
* Strengthening integration across THS services, private providers, and community organisations.
* Supporting a place-based approach to care delivery.
The NP will draw upon advanced clinical competencies to:
* Enhance service outcomes through research and quality improvement.
* Champion nurse-led primary care pathways.
* Engage in relevant research, collaborative education, and service redesign.
* Act as a leader and mentor to nurses and other clinicians across Sub-Acute, Aged, and Community Services.
Why Tasmania: The Department of Health Tasmania oversees hospitals including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, along with district hospitals and ambulance services. It provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services through over 300 sites.

Details of appointment: Permanent part-time, day worker position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Note: Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. This selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for up to twelve months from the date of publication.

Salary: $144,146 per annum (Pro rata), with an additional 12% superannuation contribution.

Salary range in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Additional allowances may include:
* Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type.
Salary Packaging: Benefits include living expenses up to $9,010 and $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year, plus other benefits if eligible.
* Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of 4%.

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the essential criteria.
* Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and endorsed as a Nurse Practitioner.
