We are looking to hire a senior systems administrator to lead and manage our office IT and support our staff (approximately 40 staff, including 10 developers). We are primarily a Microsoft shop, although we have an increasing number of Apple laptops in our environment. Although this is a single person role to lead and manage our office IT, you will also be working with our software team and an external MSP, who provide secondary support.

We actively encourage learning, and you will have opportunities to grow and be involved with as many advanced projects as you want, not just providing support desk assistance (although that is a key part of the role).

What we're looking for

* Senior level of experience in IT systems administration (4+ years)
* Australian citizen or permanent resident with existing right to work
* Physical presence in our Loganholme Queensland office on a regular basis
* Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Extensive experience with Windows Server environments and associated technologies: Intune, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365, Microsoft Defender
* Experience with Apple products and supporting hybrid environments
* Strong understanding of cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure
* Proficiency in deployments, scripting (PowerShell), and automation
* Solid knowledge of network technologies, including firewalls, switches, cabling, and Wi‐Fi access points
* Experience with on‐prem and cloud backup technologies (Azure, Veeam and Commvault)
* Hardware troubleshooting capabilities
* Proven incident management and problem‐solving skills
* Reliable personal transportation (valid Driver's License and own vehicle required)

Highly Desirable Skills

* Database administration experience (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)
* Experience with Linux server administration
* Experience with virtualisation platforms (Hyper‐V, Docker)
* Exposure to maintaining and scaling web applications

What You'll Do

* Be physically present in our main office to support our staff's IT needs (hybrid Mac & Windows environment)
* Microsoft Windows Domain Administration: Active Directory, ADFS, Office 365, SharePoint, and File shares
* Manage and maintain office infrastructure: firewalls, networks, switches, printers, Wi‐Fi APs, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper‐V
* Maintain security controls, backup systems, and redundancy strategies
* Provide help desk and technical support to staff
* Hardware procurement, maintenance, and configuration
* Manage licensing and software compliance
* Implement and support processes aligned with ISO‐27001 requirements
* Assist with penetration testing activities and cybersecurity remediation work
* Design, maintain, and improve infrastructure and process documentation
* Communicate effectively with staff and management across the organisation
