Professional Experience Manager – Fremantle campus
Full-time opportunity, continuing contract
Responsibilities
* Lead, supervise, and mentor a national team delivering professional experience placements, ensuring consistent implementation of the national placement framework.
* Oversee planning, coordination, and delivery of preservice teacher placements across multiple campuses.
* Manage resources, staff performance, and training to support effective and high-quality placement outcomes.
* Coordinate placement logistics, including matching preservice teachers to suitable settings and resolving placement issues.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, early childhood education centres, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
* Support the National Lead in developing strategy and negotiating partnership agreements and MOUs.
* Monitor and evaluate placement quality and program effectiveness using data, feedback, and reporting.
* Ensure accurate records, reporting, and compliance with University policies, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Qualifications, skills & experience
* A degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred), with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical, administrative or education fields, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
* Eligibility for teacher registration in Australia is desirable.
* Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment in a busy, fluid, complex environment.
* Well-developed skills in managing team dynamics, providing mentorship, and conducting performance evaluations.
* Demonstrated experience in the management of resource allocation (higher education experience highly regarded).
* Demonstrated capacity to provide strategic leadership and management, including the development and implementation of policies, strategies and initiatives to enhance placement activities and align them with organisational goals.
* Strong project management skills, including planning, coordinating, reporting, and overseeing placement processes and logistics, as well as proficiency in resource allocation, budget management, and timeline adherence.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster high levels of collegiality and build and maintain relationships with demonstrated success in the delivery of quality client service, with the ability to liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* Highly developed conceptual, organisational, planning and time management skills, including the capacity to manage competing priorities and to deliver strategic outcomes.
