Description
Join Tweed Shire Council's Water Unit and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing cutting edge Telemetry, SCADA, and Flood Warning systems. Bring your electrical expertise to deliver top-tier maintenance, diagnostics, and repair services that keep our community flowing.

About The Role

* Develop, install, and maintain electronic monitoring and control systems to ensure reliable operation of water and sewer assets.
* Contribute to SCADA operations for water and wastewater, managing infrastructure assets to meet performance standards at minimal risk and cost.
* Monitor system performance, assist in creating maintenance programs, and support short- to medium-term capital planning.
* Provide technical assistance to mechanical and electrical teams and offer broader support to the Water Unit during peak demand periods.
* Apply Council's Enterprise Risk Management Policy to ensure compliance and uphold service commitments at all times.

We Are Seeking

* A qualified professional holding a NSW Electrical or Contractor's Licence with at least two years of relevant experience.
* Certificate IV (or equivalent experience) in Instrumentation and a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
* Solid working knowledge of water supply distribution and sewerage collection and transport systems, as well as water and sewage treatment plant processes.
* Proven ability to plan, design, implement, and develop control systems and manage associated data effectively.
* High-level competence in PLC Ladder Logic / Function Block programming and experience with installation, maintenance, and calibration of a wide range of instrumentation.
* Strong understanding of SCADA systems, Radio Telemetry, and the ability to administer SCADA and Telemetry control systems.
* Analytical skills to undertake root cause analysis and collaborate with business owners on process improvements.

This position is based in Mechanical and Electrical Facility (Chinderah) and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
