Project Overview: Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project. Job Summary: As Senior Piping Designer, you will plan, develop, and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) work, produce models, drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries, solving complex technical issues and ensuring PD&P designs comply with all regulations and standards. _This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership_ Major Responsibilities: Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work within a small-size PD&P?design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global?business unit.? Produces 3D models, drawings and documentation of piping and plant layout in accordance with established design practices and scope? Ensures PD&P designs comply with all applicable codes,?regulations, and standards. Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of PD&P?engineers, scientists, specialists, designers and drafters, including those of other disciplines.? Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper?management?. Facilitates technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators). Prepares or oversees the preparation of PD&P design estimates and work plan in?accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation and?performance accordingly.? Develops Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Bechtel design guides, appropriate Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices Other responsibilities as designated. Mentors PD&P designers and drafters by providing appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience? Required Knowledge and Skills: Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline. Experience with multi discipline interface management and global 3D model oversight. Expertise in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to design responsibilities. Experience with Smart3D modelling of pipe and equipment in a multi-discipline, intelligent modelling environment. Experience in design and drafting, including demonstrated expertise in a lead role or recognized courses in the directing of personnel.
