Our ANZ Employee Relations Legal team within our Global Employment department provides advisory, compliance, and litigation expertise to the organization. This includes advising the business on people and culture matters that carry potential legal risk, monitoring for and responding to legal changes, and managing employment litigation.

What role will you play?
As an Employee Relations Lawyer, you will provide timely and practical legal advice to stakeholders on employment law matters, including Fair Work Act and award interpretation, workplace disputes, employment and contractor agreements, and employment termination. You will work within a global legal and compliance network to monitor changes to workplace laws and support legal compliance projects, including developing and improving compliance procedures and frameworks.
You will review and draft employment agreements, policies, and procedures in partnership with Employee Relations, and utilize technology platforms to digitalize and automate document generation. You will assist with employment litigation claims, such as unfair dismissal, general protections, bullying, post-employment restraints, and discrimination. Additionally, you will prepare regulatory reports for stakeholders, including the board, and deliver internal training and upskilling initiatives.
What you offer
- 2-3 years' post-admission experience in a legal workplace relations role
- Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor, and an Australian practicing certificate
- Strong legal research and drafting skills with high attention to detail
- Proven collaboration skills, along with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- A practical, commercial mindset with the ability to explain complex concepts simply
- In-house experience (including secondments) is advantageous
