The position reports directly to the National WHS Coordinator, with indirect reporting lines to the Regional Livestock Manager. The positions direct working relationships may include but not limited to Supervisors, Farm Managers, all production related staff, Maintenance Teams, and Baiada contractors and suppliers.
Essential Qualifications/Licences
* WHS Industry relevant qualifications & Certificates or willingness to gain
* Structured project management training and / or experience
* Legally entitled to work in Australia (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident)
Critical Skills and Experience Required
* Collaborative communication skills consistent with effective consultation, influencing and relationship building
* Knowledge of all processes within scope
* Ability to make quick and correct decisions "on the job" and long-term decisions
* Competent computer and system skills
* Possess well developed problem solving skills
* Ability to achieve departmental KPI's (meet Baiada guidelines)
* Knowledge of all relevant Baiada guidelines
* Experience in or knowledge of feed milling, poultry processing and further processing, and how it can impact on legal requirements in terms of Health, Safety and Security risk.
* Experienced in investigating workplace accidents/incidents/injuries
* Knowledge of Australian Standards AS4801 or ISO 45001 (WHS Management Systems)
* Excellent leadership skills incorporating conflict resolution and problem solving
* Excellent people skills, mathematical and communication skills, both written and oral
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Ability to work in a team environment to resolve problems or improve systems
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
* Background in poultry processing or food manufacturing
* Prior knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety Systems in the work place
* Structured training in computer database and spread sheet use
* Thorough meeting management skills
* Experience in dealing with workplace incidents and injuries, with regulators, and in conflict resolution.
* Experience in conducting regular safety inspections
