About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Manager to support the establishment of the Australian Shipbuilder, a joint venture between ASC and BAE Systems delivering Australia's SSN-AUKUS submarine capability. Working within the Business Enablement function, this role is critical in ensuring supplier quality assurance frameworks are established and embedded from the outset. You will play a key role in assuring supplier compliance, driving quality excellence, and supporting long‐term operational success across a complex and highly regulated supply chain.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance processes and systems
* Ensure suppliers meet contractual, regulatory, and quality management system requirements
* Lead supplier audits, assessments, and performance reviews
* Identify supplier risks and drive corrective and preventive actions
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support procurement and supplier onboarding activities
* Apply quality management methodologies and tools to improve supplier performance
* Monitor and report on supplier quality metrics and continuous improvement outcomes
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline or sufficient experience such that you would be considered 'qualified by experience'
* Certification in Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO 9001), with CQI or ASQ membership highly desirable
* Demonstrated experience in supplier quality assurance or process management, ideally within defence or manufacturing
* Proven experience designing and implementing supplier quality assurance frameworks
* Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools
* Excellent analytical, problem‐solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
