Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Manager
About the Role
This exciting opportunity is for an experienced Environment, Safety and Health Officer to lead environmental sustainability initiatives at our project site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and developing strategies to minimize our ecological footprint.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement environmental management plans to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize waste generation.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and cooperation.
* Manage a team of specialist technicians to deliver environmental monitoring programs and provide technical advice to senior management.
* Collaborate with the community engagement team to develop and implement strategies that promote social responsibility and cultural awareness.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant science, environmental management or engineering field.
* Well-developed working knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
* Experience in environment management, preferably in the mining or rehabilitation sector.
* High level written and verbal communication skills and experience in delivering results against a schedule.
* Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness and understanding, including sound knowledge of cultural sensitivities and needs when working with Aboriginal people.
